
Diana-Hoover is one of largest oil rigs that is in the Gulf at this point in time. The sheer size of the structure is comparable to the Empire State Building (as shown in the image). The rig is held in place by mooring lines which are anchored to the sea floor. There is one more of the DDCV (deep draft caisson vessels) in the Gulf, the second being Genesis, which was placed in 1998.
